Hello, fellow computer users! So glad you're reading my blog. Anyway, just wanted to tell you what this site is all about. I'm pretty much just blogging about books, movies, TV shows, music, and any other random thought that comes to my head (because isn't that what blogging is all about?). Baby It's Cold Outside (Parody) - Marc and Nathan

Merry Christmas Eve, my dears!  I hope you've been having an absolutely magical Christmas season.  Now Christmas is the time of year that YouTubers really step up their game and the hilarious YouTube duo Marc and Nathan are no exception.  As we all know the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" is a bit creepy if you think about it (even the Elf version - okay, especially the Elf version), but Marc and Nathan truly take this song to a new level.

This is why you should always carry pepper spray, girls.  Never trust boys who take advantage of the holidays.

Have a very merry Christmas, kiddos!  I love you all in a cynical, distant sort of way.  Which reminds me - my family and I will be on the road this week and next week heading to Florida (and back home) but I'll try to keep posting.  If I can't happy New Year in advance.

Beauty Queen by Bop Skizzum

Happy July, kiddies!  Hope your summer has been fabulous.  Don't worry, I won't keep you from your suntanning much longer.  I just dropped by to show you a great new music video by Bop Skizzum.  The first time I saw it I got half way through and then bought the song on iTunes.  So yeah, I guess you could say I like it.  It's sort of rock/indie/blues - different from the norm but in a good way.  Their unique style is probably one the best and coolest things about them.  Enjoy:

Hope you guys are having a great summer.  Make sure to listen to plenty of good music for me.

Don't Make Snuggle Angry

I just saw the real commercial on TV and just had to post this.  I can't tell if I'm scared of the little guy or want to give him a hug.  Maybe a little bit of both.

Epic Rap Battles of History: Dr. Seuss VS Shakespeare

Epic Rap Battles of History.  Now how do I describe this?  Well, two people (or two groups) go into an epic rap battle.  I'm not really sure how to describe it in deeper detail.  You'll have to watch to find out.  This episode:  Dr. Seuss VS Shakespeare

Who do you think won?  Vote in the poll (on your right, people) or comment below.  (I'm voting Dr. Seuss - gotta love Thing 1 and Thing 2)

Cereal Mascot Therapy Session

"Cereal Mascot Therapy Session" by College Humor is the one of my very, very, very favorite YouTube videos ever.  Everyone knows how creepy and totally messed up cereal mascots are.  This is what would happen if all of the cereal mascots went to group therapy (hint: it isn't a good idea).  It is also one of the most quotable videos ever.

"It could be worse - you could work for Raisin Bran."  "Let's get this party started!  *sniff, sniff* Follow your nose!  *splat*"

*WARNING:  This video isn't very appropriate for kids of all ages, if ya know what I mean. (Don't worry, it's just language.  Jeez, what kind of person do you think I am?)

The Ballad of Mona Lisa by Panic! At the Disco

Look what I have for you guys - more music (oh, you know you love it)!  My friend actually showed me this song when he saw I liked the song Real World by the All American Rejects (you can find that song here).  When Brendon Urie (lead singer) started singing, I knew it was love at first sight (or would it be first hearing?  Whatever).  I am now a HUGE Panic! At the Disco Fan.  So please allow me to show you the song that first got me hooked on this amazing band (the please part was just me being nice - I'm going to show it to you whether you want me to or not).

Isn't his voice amazing?  Goodness, I could just sit here and listen to him all day.  *sigh*  Anyways, here is the lyric video.

Hope you like them as much as I do (though I'm not sure that's possible).

Peace, Sarcastic Chick

Smosh

Smosh. Chances are you've seen at least one of their videos before (I even posted one of their videos last year: Pokemon In Real Life!).  These guys are so amazing.  Some of their videos are kind of lame or just dumb (especially the earlier ones - ack, don't even watch those).  But 99% are hilarious and make me smile on even my worst days.  I also love reading their articles on The Smosh Pit.  The style is usually very dry and sarcastic (so of course I love it).  Anyway, let me show you my top five favorite Smosh videos.

WARNING:  Some of these videos are a bit inappropriate (but still freakin' hilarious).

The Legend of Zelda Rap [Music Video]:  Awesome for anyone into video games or knows someone who is way into video games.
Teens in the Wild!:  Don't pretend your parents haven't done at least some version of this.
The Harry Potter Pill!:  This one is for my friends ;)  "A single dose of the Potter Pill will end all of your suffering from the gaping hole that Harry Potter has left in your life."
Best Toy Ever!:  I seriously want a Happy Cow.
If Kids Shows Were Real!:  Because every year I swear kids shows get creepier and creepier.

Well, I was going to include Pokemon in Real Life (because it is AMAZING) but I didn't because I thought it might be a tad bit redundant to post it again.  But just in case you want to check it out and are just too darn lazy to find the other post, I'll add the links below.

Pokemon In Real Life!
Pokemon In Real Life 2! (my personal favorite)
Pokemon In Real Life 3!
Pokemon In Real Life 4! (that's right - they made a new one! Yeeees!)

Remember to check out smosh.com for more.

Cirque Dans La Rue by the Plain White T's

I'm a huge Plain White T's fan and this is one of my favorite songs.  It's the kind of song that makes you want to dance (or maybe that's just me).  My favorite line of the song would have to be "Leave reality outside and come along for the ride."  So ignore the odd name and enjoy the song.

Now, I want to note that whoever made this video did an awesome job.  I've tried to make a lyric video and, believe me, it is not as easy as it looks.

Things Girls Shouldn't Buy... Ever.

Okay, we've all seen some pretty weird stuff while shopping.  Some of it's funny and some of it is just weird.  Here are a couple of products that are both funny and weird!

BEAUTY SMILE TRAINER
Beauty Smile Trainer Product

Question:  How would you talk with this thing in your mouth?  And how would you eat?  Worse, what would happen if it fell out?  I'm pretty sure this creates more awkward situations than it's worth.  Plus, it just looks damn uncomfortable.

F-CUP COOKIE

Sorry, girls, but I don't think this cookie is really going to make you an F-Cup.  It just looks nasty.

GROW A BOYFRIEND

Girls, let me make this totally clear: You are better than this!  You do not need to "grow" a boyfriend.  Ever.

BOOTY POP

Way uncomfortable and even weirder than stuffing your bra.

And look what I found!  The official BOOTY POP commercial.  I couldn't even watch the whole thing, I was feeling so sorry for these girls.

BOYFRIEND PILLOW
Boyfriend Pillow

I want you to really quick imagine your friend coming into your room and seeing this pillow.  Now imagine what they would say to you.  Hint:  If I was that friend, I think I'd start and intervention.

THE BIEBER THONG
Justin Bieber Thong Underwear

Justin Bieber's name should never, ever be this close to your crotch.

WINE RACK BRA
The Wine Rack Bra

Good news!  Now you can get drunk AND look like you have a bigger chest.  Geez, whoever made this must have a ton of respect for women.

THE KUSH SUPPORT
The Kush Support

You know how uncomfortable having your boobs squish together while you're sleeping is.  Oh wait... it really isn't.  Huh.

MAKE A BOYFRIEND
Make A Boyfriend Kit

This is just like the GROW A BOYFRIEND.  Just.  Don't.  Do.  It.

The Flying Turtle

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  Let us celebrate by watching yet another hilarious YouTube clip.  This time it is "The Flying Turtle" by bobjenz.  This is one of those videos you watch and then send to your friends right away because you know it'll make them laugh.  Remember to listen to the lyrics and laugh your heart out (But not really.  That would be gross).

And a Very Harry Valentine's Day To You

As you may (or may not, if you're a guy) know, tomorrow if Valentine's Day.  Now, I could go into how some people L-O-V-E Valentine's Day and probably sacrifice goats to sustain the gods of love for another year, or I could talk about how some people hate the day of love and go on rants about it.  Seeing as discussing either is pretty overdone (and I'm too lazy for that - I mean come on, I haven't posted in, like, a month and you expect me to come up with a huge argument?  You people obviously don't know me well enough) I'm going to talk about something we all love - Potter Puppet Pals.

If you haven't heard of this hilarious YouTube sensation, you're probably living under a rock.  With no Internet.  Or human interaction (which leads me to wonder how you got onto this blog...).   But I like to accommodate everyone, even those who live under rocks, so I'll tell you a little bit about these videos.

Potter Puppet Pals is a spoof on Harry Potter.  They use puppets (bet you didn't know that) to act out scenes with the Harry Potter characters.  Even if you aren't a big Harry Potter fan, these videos are super funny.  And it's a great talking point with your friends that are Harry Potter fans (and don't tell me you don't have any friends that don't like Harry Potter).

My Top Five Favorites:
  1. The Mysterious Ticking Noise - The classic Potter Puppet Pals video.  Ask anyone who has watched these videos and they will immediately start singing this song (or at least attempt to).
  2. The Vortex - The first time I watched this, I sprayed hot chocolate out of my nose.  (word of advice: don't spray hot chocolate out of your nose.  It hurts)
  3. Snape' Diary (Extended version) -  Definitely the most quotable video.  "I hope you find your button, Snape."  "So do I, Orange One.  So.  Do.  I."
  4. Draco Puppet - I can't help but feel a little bit sorry for Draco in this one.  You'll have to watch to find out why.
  5. Wizard Swears - Probably the second most popular Potter Puppet Pals video (right after "The Mysterious Ticking Noise").  It's even rated PG-13 for language and boyish attitude.

Sad I didn't talk more about the people who love/hate V-Day?  Here's a video to make up for it: Messy Mondays: I Love/Hate Valentine's Day

1, 2, 3, 4 by the Plain White T's

If you haven't noticed, I'm not much for love songs or stories.  To me they all seem the same (check out How to Write a Love Song to see what I mean).  This song is one of the few exceptions because it is just so darn sweet.  How can you not love it?  I was already a fan of this song when one of my friends told me to see the music video ("You have to put this music video on your blog.  It's so sweet!").  So I did what I was told and saw the video.  I must say, this is a really cute music video.  Even in my most cynical mood I think this video would make me smile.  Check it out:  1, 2, 3, 4 by the Plain White T's

Real World by the All-American Rejects

While I have a few All-American Reject songs on my iPod, I wouldn't call myself a huge fan.  They have okay songs and aren't too terribly original with their sound.  That being said, there is one of their songs I can't help but love.  Real World by the All-American Rejects is one of my favorite songs ever.  The style in this song is a bit darker than their other stuff and maybe that's why I like it so much.  The lyrics remind me of the kind of books I like - a bit twisted and sad.  My favorite line would have to be "At first we learned to walk, then learned to scream."  How awesome is that?  Anyway because I enjoy this song so much I'm actually putting it on this blog (as you can see below).  Unfortunately, it's they don't have a music video so the one I'm putting up is the song and lyrics (but it's very well done).  Enjoy!

Save the World by Swedish House Mafia

Okay, so a friend told me to check out this video on youtube because "it's hard to explain, but it's epic.  You'll love it."  I said I'd check it out and here I am, sharing it with all of you!  I did really like this song, I must say.  It wasn't about love or breaking up or how everything sucks and we can't do anything about it.  It was more like yeah some things are bad, but we can fight back.  We're not totally useless.  The music video is really sweet.  Gotta say, I love the dogs.  See it here.

How it Should Have Ended: Harry Potter

One of my favorite websites is How it Should Have Ended.  It takes movies, TV shows, and video games and shows what could have and really should have happened.  One of my favorites would have to be How Harry Potter Should Have Ended.  Now I'm not a huge Potter fan but I have seen the movies and know my way around the story so this video makes a load of sense for me.  If you haven't seen the Harry Potter movies (though I'm not really sure that's possible) you might not totally get this video but it's still pretty dang funny.

Twifail

*'Kay, so I realize that some of you out there may be Twilight fans.  That's fine.  I'm just expressing my opinion.  Please don't freak out.  If you're going to then just stop reading.  Right now.  Still reading?  Then I'm not longer responsible for your freak out.

So Breaking Dawn: Part 1 just came out yesterday (I was not aware of this until during class one of the girls was like, "OMTwilight, I saw Breaking Dawn last night!  *squeal*").  I believe this would be an excellent time to tell you I strongly dislike Twilight with a passion.  There is no plot, Edward is an abusive stalker, Bella is a whiny, ungrateful, self-absorbed, self-destructive little girl who needs to get a grip, Jacob is just plain creepy with a capital CREEPY, and vampires should never, ever sparkle.  Ever.  It's just gross and wrong.  Plus, it's so poorly written.  Ugh, it's almost painful to read.  Sometimes I wonder if Stephenie Meyer just woke up one morning and go "Oh, I think I'll just ruin vampire novels for everyone and at the same time set back feminists about 100 years."  Oh, that's right, SHE DID (she got the book idea from a freakin' dream).  Anyway, here are some of my very favorite anti-Twilight sayings:

  • Jacob Black, I want to 'La Push' you off a cliff.
  • Stephenie Meyer is my hero.  If she can publish a book I know I can.
  • Then Buffy staked Edward.  The End.
  • Team Tyler's Van
  • Twilight: Bram Stoker is rolling in his grave.

And here is a great musical based on the books by Gliff Productions!  Enjoy!

Harry Potter Humourous Interpretation

Are you a Harry Potter fan?  Do you enjoy laughing?  Do you have any sense at all?  Then this oral interp piece is perfect for you!  It was preformed by Nathan Rarick from Manzano HS (Albuquerque, NM).  He got second place, but in my opinion he should have won - he is so good!  To look at part one click here.  To watch part two click here.  I have to say my favorite part would have to be his singing.  Amazing!  ;)

"Have you ever walked in on your parents while they were....being brutally attacked by a psychotic wizard killer who was after you too?"

Pokemon In Real Life!

One of the best YouTube videos out there is Pokemon In Real Life by Smosh.  If you've ever played a Pokemon game on a gameboy (guilty) or watched others play or really know anything at all about Pokemon, it's freakin' hilarious.  They have three videos out: Pokemon In Real Life!, Pokemon In Real Life 2!, and Pokemon In Real Life 3!.

CAUTION:  It's kinda inappropriate (but still amazing).  Just thought you should know.

Evanescence: Delux

So right now I'm listening to Evanescence's newest album (the 5 year wait is over, buddy!) and it is blowing me away.  It's probably my hundredth time listening to it (I got it on Tuesday, heh), but every time it just seems to get even better.  If you've never heard Evanescence you a) have been living a shell of a life and b) must listen to this amazing music.  Click on this link to watch their Everybody's Fool music video (this song isn't on the new album, but it kicks some serious butt).  My favorite song on this album is probably Sick.  The lyrics are strong and true and the instruments are great as always, not to mention Amy Lee's crazy awesome voice.  Listen and be amazed.

"...now there's nothing that can change the way I feel.   Hold on, little girl, the end is soon to come."
~Sick, Evanescence
